Depending on the space available and control required there are a number of different air conditioning types available:

Split 

This is the normal choice for domestic households as it allows multiple rooms to be cooled at any one time and comprises of indoor units mounted within the chosen rooms and an outdoor unit directly outside on a level surface; the indoor units are connected to the outdoor unit by refrigerant pipework which passes chemical formula through the system to cool the environment.

Single Room

This is a simpler design when cooling is only required in one room; the system will still comprise of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit and works in the same way as a split system.

Portable

Portable units are the cheapest way of cooling a home as they do not require refrigerant but only cater for occasional use; they are ideal for smaller rooms and a lack of space.
