AIR SOURCE
Air Source Heat Pumps work like a fridge in reverse extracting waste heat in the air which is then used to heat water. They use the difference between outdoor air temperatures and indoor air temperatures to cool and heat your home. They are suitable for domestic or commercial uses and are highly recommended for swimming pools.

When properly installed, an air-source heat pump can deliver one-and-a-half to three times more heat energy to a home than the electrical energy it consumes, this equates to an effective energy of 250-400%. This is possible because a heat pump moves heat rather than converting it from a fuel, like in combustion heating systems.

SOLAR COLLECTORS
The Apricus Solar Collector is fitted to a south-facing roof or can be fitted to frames on the ground or side of a building, where it absorbs thermal energy from the sun and converts it into usable heat. The heat is normally absorbed by water, or a freeze resistant water mix, which can then be used to provide hot water in the summer and supplement hot water heating in the winter.

SOLAR COLLECTOR OPERATION
Solar radiation is absorbed by the evacuated tubes and converted into heat.

Solar Heat Transfer: Heat pipes conduct the heat from within the solar tube up to the header.

Solar Energy Storage: Water is ciruclated through the header, via intermittent pump cycling operated by our Thermal Differential Controller. Each time the water circulates through the header the temperatures is raised by 5-10c / 9-18f. Throughout the day, the water in the storage tank is gradually heated.

GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
A guide to energy saving
For every 1kw of electricity used the heat pump provides 4kw of heat energy.  Typically a 200sqm new build would require a 12kw heat pump using just 3kw of electricity.
